Wednesday, November 20: Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day

Our Education Support Professionals (ESPs) are the unsung heroes of our schools. They include paraeducators, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, administrative assistants, and more—individuals who work tirelessly to create a supportive and safe environment for all Colorado students. ESPs are the ones who greet students with a smile on the bus, ensure classrooms are clean and ready, serve nutritious meals, provide essential assistance in the classroom, and help maintain a welcoming atmosphere throughout our schools. Their work is often behind the scenes, but their impact is visible every day in the well-being and success of our students.
Colorado’s ESPs go above and beyond to meet students’ needs, often forming close bonds with students and providing support that reaches far beyond academics. Many ESPs are mentors and role models, offering a listening ear and a helping hand when students need it most. They are essential to creating an environment where students feel safe, seen, and supported. Learn more about ESPs.
Let’s take this day to honor our ESPs by recognizing their incredible dedication to our schools. Without them, our schools simply couldn’t function.

Anyone can show their appreciation for ESPs across the country. You can send a thank you message to education support professionals (or receive them, if you are an ESP!) by texting CELEBRATE to 48744.
